Apple Releases iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 Update
Apple rolled out the iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 update on Monday. Developers and public beta testers can now download it. The update builds on features that Apple first introduced after its WWDC 2026 conference. Moreover, it brings several enhancements and fixes.
This new beta improves the Liquid Glass UI. In addition, it adds fresh photo editing tools in the Photos app. Most importantly, Siri becomes smarter with better contextual awareness. Apple also delivers general stability improvements and bug fixes.
Key New Features
Users now access a dedicated Write with Siri button. It appears above the keyboard in apps like Notes, Mail, and Messages. This tool makes AI-powered writing quick and easy.
Furthermore, the Wallet app gains an Insights section. Although not fully active yet, it will later connect financial accounts. Users can then view spending patterns, balances, and recurring transactions in one place.
The Home app receives a useful update. Owners can now install software updates on Apple TV remotely. They no longer need to turn on the device manually.
On the messaging side, iOS 27 supports replying to specific messages in RCS conversations. Additionally, Visual Intelligence offers a new Highlight to Image Search option. It sends selected images to third-party services for similar content searches.
Other Improvements
Apple introduces several smaller enhancements. These include highlighted controls in the Camera app and live footage support for HomeKit notifications. Moreover, the Weather app offers better readability. Users can also delete multiple Siri conversations at once. The Photos app expands RAW image support for Apple Intelligence editing tools.
The update file size is around 5.23 GB for iPhone 15 Pro models. It supports all iPhones running iOS 26, including iPhone 11 and newer devices. Currently, only registered developers can access it. Apple will release the public version later this year alongside new iPhones.
