Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: A Game Changer Ahead of Launch

Samsung prioritizes Galaxy Z Fold 8 production as it prepares for the London Unpacked event.

Samsung Shifts Focus to Wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ahead of London Launch

Samsung will hold its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London. At the event, the company plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide), and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

A Bold Production Change

According to fresh reports, Samsung has adjusted its manufacturing strategy. The company now prioritizes its upcoming passport-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Industry sources reveal that Samsung aims to produce 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 this year. In comparison, it targets about 2 million units for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and 1.5 million for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

This marks a clear shift from earlier plans. Previously, Samsung had divided production capacity more evenly between the standard Fold and the Ultra model.

Strong Momentum in Foldables

Samsung’s Galaxy Z foldable lineup typically ships between 5 million and 6 million units each year. Last year, shipments exceeded 6 million, thanks to solid demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Analysts expect total production this year to land between 5.5 million and 6 million units.

What Makes the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Special

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a fresh passport-like design. It features a 5.5-inch cover screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a spacious 7.6-inch AMOLED inner display with a 4:3 ratio. Both screens support up to a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

Moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will sit at a more accessible price point than the Ultra version. It will likely include a dual-camera setup on the back, while the Ultra model keeps a more advanced triple-camera system.

Exciting Event Lineup

Samsung has already confirmed the July 22 event, which starts at 2 p.m. BST (6:30 p.m. IST). Along with the three new foldables, the company will showcase the Galaxy Watch 9 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

As excitement builds, leaks and hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 continue to surface online. Fans eagerly await the official reveal in London. This strategic push toward the wider Fold model could reshape Samsung’s foldable success in the coming months.
