Lenskart Announces Development of New Smart Glasses
Lenskart is working on a new pair of smart glasses. Co-founder and CEO Peyush Bansal announced this at the Snapdragon for India XR Day in New Delhi.
The smart glasses will utilize chipsets made by Snapdragon.
This will be the second smart glasses from the eyewear company, following the introduction of the Lenskart Phonic in February.
Bansal teased the development during a conversation with Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India.
The wearable will use a Snapdragon chipset.
The chipset type will determine its functionality. It will either be an augmented reality (AR) offering or a simple pair of AI smart glasses.
The smart glasses could be powered by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 SoC. They might also use the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 chipset. Alternatively, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip could be used.
The Lenskart Phonic, the company’s previous smart glasses, allows users to take calls. It also lets them listen to music and interact with an AI voice assistant.
It is priced at Rs. 4,000 and promises up to seven hours of playtime on a single charge.
