Sony ILCE-7V Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Launched in India

Sony has launched the ILCE-7V in India. The camera is part of the Alpha 7 lineup. It is designed for both photographers and video creators.

The ILCE-7V features a 33-megapixel Exmor RS CMOS sensor. It comes with the latest BIONZ XR2 image processor. Sony says the AI unit improves autofocus, subject recognition, and colour accuracy. Video performance also gets a boost.

Sony has also introduced the FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II zoom lens. It supports high-speed continuous shooting.

Price and Availability

The ILCE-7V body costs Rs. 2,55,990. Sales begin on December 10. The ILCE-7V M-kit with lens is priced at Rs. 2,70,490. It will be available from February 2026. The camera will be sold via Sony Centres, Croma, Reliance Digital, Amazon, and ShopAtSC.

Key Features

The ILCE-7V offers AI-powered Real-Time Recognition AF. Sony claims 30 percent better detection and tracking. It has 759 phase-detection points covering 94 percent of the frame. Tracking works even in low light down to EV -4.0.

The sensor allows faster readout speeds. Continuous shooting reaches 30fps with AF and AE tracking. It supports 14-bit RAW capture. Up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second are possible. A Pre-Capture mode stores one second of frames before the shutter.

Sony claims 16 stops of dynamic range. Colours and details are said to be smoother. AI-based Auto White Balance adapts to changing light.

Video Capabilities

The ILCE-7V records 7K oversampled 4K 60p in full-frame mode. It also supports 4K 120p in APS-C/Super 35 crop mode. Full pixel readout ensures sharpness. AI-powered Auto Framing and Dynamic Active Mode stabilisation are included. Noise reduction improves audio recording.

Lens and Performance

The FE 28-70mm OSS II lens supports 120fps AF/AE tracking. It offers breathing compensation and stabilisation coordination. Thermal performance has been improved. Extended 4K recording is supported. Battery life allows up to 630 shots with the viewfinder. A low-brightness monitor mode helps save power.
