Samsung Sets One UI 9 Dates for Older Galaxy Phones
Samsung has confirmed when some older Galaxy phones and foldables will get One UI 9. The Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z7 foldables should receive the update in selected markets by the end of September. The Galaxy S23 FE is due later this year.
The software already runs on Samsung’s newest devices. It adds Galaxy AI tools, stronger device management, and fresh security fixes. Other compatible phones and tablets will get the update in stages.
Thailand has the clearest timetable. There, the Galaxy S25 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 start the update on September 28. The Galaxy S23 FE is scheduled for October. Meanwhile, Samsung is already sending One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra in that market. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 already have the software.
Samsung has named more phones and tablets for One UI 9. However, it has not posted exact dates for every model. The September 28 start applies to Thailand. Other countries may follow a different calendar.
The update brings several new tools. My FanCam can track a chosen person while you record. Now Brief lets you pick what appears in a daily summary. Now Nudge can suggest an action from what is on screen, such as saving a booking or a location.
Settings now include warranty and support tools. Users can view warranty status, run diagnostics, and check repair estimates. They can also manage Samsung Care+ and book a service visit.
Interpreter can show earlier translations and speed up live conversation. Compatible Galaxy Buds can play the translated audio. Document Scan can read curved or folded pages. Voice Recorder can turn speech into structured summaries.
Security also expands. The software can warn about malware, apps from unknown sources, and extra permissions. Enhanced Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag risky app behaviour, including needless background access.
Scam Detection is reaching more countries and languages. Samsung says it is available in Japan, Canada, and India. Access still depends on the market, language, device, and software version.
Samsung has not published a full global calendar yet. Owners should check Settings for the update once it reaches their region.
