The Tower 7 also adds LIVE Sound and a 10-band equaliser.
Both speakers can stand vertically or horizontally and include four handles. They carry an IPX4 rating and use Sound Field Optimisation to adjust audio to the room. Sony claims up to 20 hours of battery life for the Tower 5 and up to 30 hours for the Tower 7. Lighting uses 56 LEDs on the Tower 5 and 72 LEDs on the Tower 7. Both support Bluetooth, USB-C, DJ inputs, karaoke, multi-speaker linking, and a low-latency DSP. The Tower 5 also has USB-A, RCA, XLR In/Out, and a microphone input. The Tower 7 supports XLR/RCA DJ input, USB-C, and wired multi-speaker chaining.
The ULT Tower Max is rated at 2,150W. It uses three 280mm woofers, two at the front and one at the rear, plus ULT DUCT technology, two midrange drivers, and four tweeters. Modes include ULT1, ULT2, and LIVE FLAT, along with a 10-band equaliser. It supports 360-degree sound and Sound Field Optimisation, which Sony says adjusts audio for nearby noise and walls.
The flagship also includes XLR/RCA DJ input, USB-C for PCs and phones, wired multi-speaker and stereo pairing, and a low-latency DSP. Karaoke controls for microphone volume and echo sit on the rear panel and in the companion app. The top panel is splash-resistant. Four handles and side wheels aid movement, and the speaker can sit vertically or horizontally. Its lighting system uses 100 LEDs, up from 34 LEDs on the previous ULT Tower 10.
