Google Pixel Watch 5 Appears in Health App Ahead of Launch
Google’s unannounced Pixel Watch 5 has surfaced again. The smartwatch now appears inside the Google Health app. This marks another early sighting before its expected debut.
According to a report by Android Authority, the device is already listed among supported wearables. Users can select it during the pairing process. Choosing the Pixel Watch 5 opens a dedicated setup screen. It then prompts users to connect the watch to Google Health.
However, the setup process reveals little new information. Google appears to have reused illustrations from the Pixel Watch 4. The onboarding screens also contain standard text. They make no reference to new features or design changes.
This discovery comes just weeks before Google’s next hardware event. The company has scheduled the event for August 12. The Pixel Watch 5 is widely expected to launch alongside the Pixel 11 smartphone series.
Earlier leaks have already outlined several details. High-resolution renders showed the watch in Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite, and Warm Gold finishes. The Warm Gold option appears only on the 41mm model. Meanwhile, the 45mm version is shown in the other three colours.
The design changes look minor. The watch retains its domed display and side-charging contacts. It also keeps Google’s proprietary band attachment system. In addition, one new watch face features an analogue clock, wavy graphics, and a Gemini shortcut.
Previous reports suggest the Pixel Watch 5 will come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Both Wi-Fi and LTE variants are expected. A Google Play Console listing indicated 3GB of RAM. The processor and graphics configuration may remain the same as the previous model.
FCC filings also point to extra connectivity options. Select models could support LTE, satellite emergency SOS, ultra-wideband, and Wi-Fi 6.
Pricing leaks suggest a modest increase. The 41mm Wi-Fi model may start at around $399. The 45mm Wi-Fi version could cost $429. Meanwhile, the 41mm LTE and 45mm LTE models may be priced at $499 and $529, respectively.
Overall, the latest Health app listing adds to growing evidence that the Pixel Watch 5 is nearly ready. Official details are still awaited at Google’s August event.
