Sony 1000X The Collexion Features
The 1000X The Collexion uses a closed-back over-ear design. It features a wider cushioned headband and redesigned earcups. The headphones weigh about 320g.
Custom 30mm dynamic drivers power the sound. These drivers include a newly developed high-rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material. A soft edge structure supports clearer audio. The HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 and Integrated Processor V3 handle the processing. Sound tuning came from collaboration with mastering engineers under Sony’s For the Music initiative.
Twelve microphones support Multi Noise Sensor technology. Adaptive NC Optimiser, Ambient Sound Mode, and Wind Noise Reduction improve noise cancellation. For calls, AI-based voice isolation, beamforming microphones, and Precise Voice Pickup Technology work together. Users can mute or unmute calls quickly with the NC and Ambient button.
Audio support includes Hi-Res Audio, Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Ultimate, 360 Reality Audio, and 360 Upmix modes for Music, Cinema, and Gaming. Sound AR, dedicated listening modes, and a 10-band equalizer with Game EQ and BGM presets are also available. Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity, and codecs such as SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3 complete the wireless setup.
Google Gemini integration, Quick Access, Adaptive Sound Control, scene-based listening, Auto Play, and the Sony Sound Connect app add extra convenience. Speak to Chat, wearing detection, Quick Attention, and head gesture controls further improve usability.
Battery life reaches up to 24 hours with active noise cancellation on. It extends to 32 hours when noise cancellation is off. Tactile buttons, clear left and right indicators, and a magnetic carry case support accessibility.
Sony WF-1000XM6 Features
The WF-1000XM6 uses a closed in-ear design. It has a revised ergonomic shape and refined surface finish. Ear tips come in XS, S, M, and L sizes for a secure fit.

Sony states that the WF-1000XM6 offers up to 25 percent better active noise cancellation than the previous WF-1000XM5. Four microphones, Adaptive NC Optimiser, and Auto Ambient Sound mode adjust cancellation based on the environment. Ambient Sound Mode, Quick Attention, and a wind noise reduction structure are also present.
For calls, AI-backed beamforming, multiple microphones, and a bone conduction sensor improve voice pickup while cutting background noise. Google Gemini integration, scene-based listening, Speak to Chat, head gesture controls, the Sony Sound Connect app, and Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity round out the features.
