Anker’s New AI Chip Revolutionizes Earbud Performance

Anker introduces the “Thus” AI chip for advanced earbuds, enhancing speed, efficiency, and performance.

Anker Unveils “Thus” AI Chip, Targets Smarter and Faster Earbuds

has announced its first in-house artificial intelligence chip platform, called “Thus.” The company will officially launch the chip on May 21, 2026, at an event in New York City. With this move, Anker enters the custom silicon space. As a result, it aims to bring powerful AI capabilities directly to compact devices.

Focus on Speed and Efficiency

The new chip uses Compute-in-Memory (CIM) architecture. This design combines processing and memory into a single unit. Therefore, it removes the need to transfer data between separate components. As a result, the chip reduces latency and boosts speed. At the same time, it lowers power consumption.

Moreover, Anker claims a major performance jump. The company says the Thus chip delivers up to 150 times more AI computing power than its earlier audio products. Consequently, small devices can now handle complex AI tasks more efficiently.

On-Device AI Improves Performance

A key highlight of the Thus platform is real-time AI processing on the device itself. This means features do not depend on cloud servers. Instead, they work directly on the earbuds. As a result, response time becomes faster.

In addition, this approach improves privacy. User data does not need to travel to external servers. Furthermore, performance remains stable even in low-network conditions. Therefore, users can expect consistent audio quality in different environments.

AI-Powered Earbuds to Debut First

Anker will introduce the chip with a new flagship pair of earbuds. These earbuds will feature advanced AI-driven “Clear Calls” technology. This system focuses on improving voice clarity during calls.

The setup includes eight microphones. It also uses bone-conduction sensors. Together, they help isolate the user’s voice. Meanwhile, background noise gets filtered out more effectively. As a result, call quality improves significantly.

Expansion Beyond Audio Devices

Anker does not plan to stop at earbuds. The company aims to expand the Thus chip into other product categories. These include mobile accessories and smart devices. Therefore, more everyday gadgets may soon feature on-device AI.

Overall, the launch marks a strategic shift for Anker. It moves from being only a hardware brand to a technology innovator. As competition in AI hardware grows, this step could strengthen its position in the market.
