AirDrop Support Expands to More Android Phones via Quick Share
Android users can now share files easily with iPhones. The Quick Share feature now works with AirDrop on more devices. This change removes the need for extra apps.
Reports show the support has moved beyond Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones. It now reaches devices like the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra. Users enjoy smoother cross-platform sharing as a result.
To start sharing, people turn on AirDrop visibility on their iPhone. They set it to “Everyone” for a short time. After that, the iPhone appears directly in the Quick Share menu on Android. Files then move in both directions without hassle.
However, transfer speeds may run slower than native AirDrop or Android-to-Android sharing. Still, the feature makes daily tasks much simpler for photos, videos, and documents.
This rollout began with the Pixel 10 series. Google later added it to older Pixel models. Samsung also brought the feature to the Galaxy S26 lineup. In addition, the company extended it to the Galaxy S25 series through the One UI 8.5 update.
Industry sources confirm the expansion. Android Central and 9to5Google reported that Oppo and Vivo devices received the update quietly. The feature works smoothly on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra after a recent software patch. Vivo added it to the X300 Ultra as well.
Experts believe this step points to a wider release soon. More Android phones will likely gain AirDrop compatibility in the coming months. As a result, sharing between Android and iOS will become faster and easier for everyone.
