Samsung is gearing up to release the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update soon for select Galaxy devices, especially the S25 series. Tipster Tarun Vats recently shared the changelog on X, and excitement is building around the changes.
First, the update focuses mostly on fixes rather than big new features. However, it applies a key Bixby update that hints at major improvements ahead. Samsung appears to be boosting its voice assistant with advanced AI from partners like Perplexity and DeepSeek. This upgrade could make Bixby much smarter and more versatile.
For example, the enhanced Bixby might soon generate images, videos, documents, and even podcasts. Users could then attach these creations directly to their queries. In addition, features like Bixby Live promise real-time conversations, similar to what Google offers with Gemini Live. Moreover, it integrates Circle to Search-style tools and handles complex questions by pulling in web info through Perplexity.
Beyond Bixby, the beta tackles several annoying bugs. It fixes the issue where search history in the Phone app wouldn’t open properly. It also resolves problems with calls switching devices unexpectedly when using a Bluetooth headset under certain conditions. Another fix stops glitches when pasting phone numbers into the dialer after tapping a call link. Finally, it ensures AI Select closes automatically after you copy text.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the exact rollout date yet. Still, reports suggest the update could drop this week for beta testers on the Galaxy S25 lineup. So, if you’re enrolled in the program, keep an eye on your device for the new ZZAB build.
This beta improves the experience. It sets the stage for a stronger AI-powered Bixby in the full One UI 8.5 release. Exciting times ahead for Samsung users!
