Visa Expands Support for Four New Stablecoins

Visa will support four new stablecoins across various blockchains to modernize payment systems.

Visa to Support Four New Stablecoins Across Blockchains

US payment giant Visa announced on Tuesday that it plans to support four new stablecoins on four separate blockchains. The move is part of Visa’s larger effort to modernize its payment infrastructure.

Visa CEO Ryan McInerney revealed that the expansion will allow the conversion of stablecoins into over 25 fiat currencies. This development comes after a fourfold increase in stablecoin-linked card spending on the Visa network compared to last year.

Visa currently supports Circle’s USD Coin and Euro Coin, among others, across Ethereum, Solana, Stellar, and Avalanche networks. However, the company did not disclose which stablecoins and blockchains will be added.

The decision reflects Visa’s growing confidence in stablecoins for cross-border transactions. Visa has facilitated over $140 billion in crypto and stablecoin flows since 2020. The company also settled $225 million in stablecoin volume through its Visa Direct arm. It plans a broader rollout in 2026.
