Vivo X500 Ultra likely launches next year, featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite and triple 200MP cameras.

Vivo X500 Ultra Details Leak Ahead of Expected China Launch

Vivo launched the X500 series in China last month. The lineup currently includes three models: the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max. The company recently confirmed that it has started work on a fourth model, the Vivo X500 Ultra, which will sit above the Pro Max. Key details about the Vivo X500 Ultra have now surfaced online, including its expected launch timeline and specifications. The phone will reportedly run on the recently released Snapdragon 8 Elite series chipset. It may also carry three 200-megapixel cameras on the back.

Expected Launch Timeline and Processor

In a Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station shared details about an unspecified “Ultra-large” model in a smartphone lineup. Gizmochina reports that the details refer to the Vivo X500 Ultra, Vivo’s rumoured flagship. The handset is expected to launch in China between March and April next year. The smartphone is said to bring several upgrades over its predecessor, including a new chipset and camera setup.

The Vivo X500 Ultra is expected to run on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm process. The chipset features two prime cores with a peak clock speed of up to 5GHz. If confirmed, it would become the first phone in the X500 lineup to use a Snapdragon processor. The Vivo X500 Pro Max, by comparison, uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.

Display and Other Features

The Vivo X500 Ultra is also expected to feature a 6.85-inch LTPO BOE display. The screen may offer “2K+” resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It could come with relatively thin bezels and rounded corners. The leaker claims the phone will include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security.

Vivo’s Vice President of Product, Huang Tao, reportedly told a publication that the company will launch the Vivo X500 Ultra in China next year. The smartphone will join the recently launched Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max. It is expected to replace the Pro Max as the company’s new flagship.

Camera Details

The Vivo X500 Ultra is reportedly equipped with a triple rear camera system. It may feature three 200-megapixel shooters with 1/1.12-inch, 1/1.3-inch, and 1/1.4-inch sensors. The 1/1.12-inch sensor could serve as the telephoto camera. However, Vivo has not yet confirmed these details.

The leaked information points to a significant upgrade for Vivo’s flagship lineup. Official confirmation of the X500 Ultra’s specifications and launch date is still awaited.
