Amazon Launches Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) and a Redesigned Remote

Amazon has launched a new Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) and a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The company says the stick loads apps and starts playback faster than a similarly priced 4K streamer from another leading brand. Amazon has also cut its stick range to three tiers. The new hardware runs Vega OS, supports 4K streaming, and ships with Alexa+. The remote comes with the stick and can also be bought alone.

The Fire TV Stick 4K costs $59.99, or about Rs 5,800. The standalone remote costs $14.99, or about Rs 1,400. The stick is available to order now. The separate remote is on preorder.

Shipping has begun in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia. Amazon plans more markets in late October. The standalone remote is expected to start US shipping in late October.

For a limited time, US shoppers can buy the stick for $29.99, or about Rs 2,900, during Prime Big Deal Days. That price is half the regular cost. The package includes the new remote, Alexa+, and the redesigned Fire TV experience.

Amazon is also preparing a Fire TV Remote Plus for early 2027. Its price has not been announced.

The 2026 stick uses a quad-core 1.7GHz processor and 8GB of storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth Low Energy. Video output reaches 4K at 60fps, with HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1.

Amazon says apps open more than 35 percent faster and playback starts nearly 20 percent sooner. The company also compared the stick with the built-in software of three 4K smart TVs and said its setup started content faster.

The body is slimmer. A compatible TV can power it through USB with the included cable. Vega OS, Alexa+, and a redesigned interface are included. Amazon says the platform has gained more than 2,000 extra apps, including Spotify, Xbox, and VLC, along with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video.

The new remote has a reshaped body and more tactile controls. The layout is meant to make common buttons easier to find without looking. A customisable star button can open an app or settings such as closed captions and Screen Magnifier. Dedicated power, volume, and mute keys remain for compatible TVs, soundbars, and receivers. The remote works with Amazon Ember TVs and Fire TV devices from 2019 onward.

Amazon is lining the range around three sticks. The Fire TV Stick HD stays the entry model. The Fire TV Stick 4K is the standard 4K option. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max sits above it with extra storage, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Alexa+ Home Theatre. The Fire TV Cube remains the higher-end device with hands-free Alexa+ and voice control. Existing models stay on sale until stock ends.

The Fire TV Remote Plus will replace the Alexa Voice Remote Pro in early 2027. It will use an aluminium body, backlit buttons, and a Find My Remote function. Users can trigger a sound from a compatible Alexa device, the Alexa app, or the Remote Finder option in the Fire TV mobile app. India pricing has not been announced.
