Instagram Introduces Tagged Posts on Profile Grid

Instagram now allows users to add selected tagged posts to their main profile grid worldwide.

Instagram Lets Users Add Tagged Posts to the Main Profile Grid

Instagram is rolling out a new profile option. Users can now choose which tagged posts appear on their main grid. The company is making the feature available worldwide.

Until now, tagged photos stayed in a separate Tagged tab. Users can move selected posts from that tab onto the main profile. Later, they can reverse the choice. The original post stays unchanged. It also remains in the Tagged section.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the rollout in a post. He said the option is starting to reach accounts globally. The tool lets people display tagged content beside their own uploads.

The app offers three routes. Users can add a post from the Direct Message they receive after a tag. They can also use the three-dot menu on the tagged post. In addition, they can press and hold a post inside the Tagged tab.

New additions follow reverse-chronological order by default. However, users who already rearranged their grid can keep that layout. The new post will not reset a custom arrangement.

Moving a tagged post does not create a second upload. It does not change the owner’s original file. Users can remove it from the grid later. That action will not delete the post. It will not drop the item from the Tagged tab.

The option can cover many kinds of content. Group photos can go on the grid. Creator collaborations can appear there as well. Personal memories can also sit beside self-posted work. As a result, users gain more control over what visitors see first.

Instagram has not given a date for every account. Still, the company says the global rollout is underway.
