Meta Quietly Launches New Discussion App Called Forum
Meta has silently introduced a new social media app named Forum. The platform focuses on deeper discussions and community conversations. It appears designed to compete directly with Reddit.
The app became visible on the iOS App Store without any official announcement. Users need a Facebook account to sign in. Once logged in, their existing groups, profiles, and activity automatically transfer to the new platform.
Forum allows users to post using nicknames for added privacy. The app includes an “Ask” feature that gathers responses from multiple groups at once. Moreover, it offers an AI-powered tab that delivers quick answers from various communities.
The platform serves as a dedicated space for meaningful discussions. It brings people together around shared interests such as hobbies, local recommendations, and support groups. Users can follow ongoing conversations and continue discussions easily.
Importantly, content shared on Forum also appears in the original Facebook Groups. Group admins retain full control and gain access to an AI-powered assistant. This tool helps them moderate content and manage communities effectively.
The Forum app currently supports devices running iOS 18 or later. It carries a 13+ age rating. However, the rollout remains limited to select regions. The app is not yet available to users in India.
