Nintendo Direct Showcase Brings Exciting Announcements
Nintendo’s recent Direct showcase was packed with thrilling announcements and reveals. The company celebrated Super Mario Bros.’ 40th anniversary with three Super Mario games coming to the Switch 2.
Major Announcements:
- Mario Tennis Fever: Launching on Switch 2 on February 12, 2026
- Super Mario Galaxy Bundle: Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released on Switch and Switch 2 on October 2, 2025
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Coming to Switch and Switch 2 on December 4, 2025
- Pokémon Pokopia: Announced for Switch 2 in 2026
- Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave: Also announced for Switch 2 in 2026
- Yoshi and the Mysterious Book: Coming to Switch 2 in Spring 2026
- Resident Evil Games: Three Resident Evil games will launch on Switch 2 next year, including Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil Village, on February 27, 2026
- Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade: Coming to Switch 2 on January 22, 2026
- Hades 2: Launching on Switch and Switch 2 on September 25, 2025
Nintendo also confirmed the title of the second Super Mario Bros. film, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” set to release in 2026. The Direct showcase highlighted various games already available on other platforms. These games will come to the Switch 2. The showcase also featured new titles and DLCs.
