Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 Receives Regulatory Approval Ahead of Expected Launch
Xiaomi is preparing to expand its foldable phone lineup. The company appears ready to introduce the Mix Fold 5 soon.
Recent leaks indicate that the device has received radio certification in China. Tipsters report that the model number 2608BPX34 belongs to this upcoming foldable. Moreover, the certification confirms support for 5G connectivity and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 will ship with HyperOS 4. This makes it the first Xiaomi smartphone to launch with the latest operating system version. Additionally, the phone is expected to feature Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset.
Industry observers link this device as the successor to the Mix Fold 4. The previous model launched in 2024 with strong specifications. Furthermore, the new foldable may launch under the Xiaomi 17 Fold branding.
Tipsters suggest an August launch timeline. This schedule positions the device ahead of the Xiaomi 18 series, which is expected in September. As a result, Xiaomi aims to strengthen its position in the premium foldable segment.
The Mix Fold 5 carries a rumoured price tag of around $1,000 (approximately Rs. 1,41,000). It promises several upgrades over its predecessor. For example, users can expect improvements in display quality, performance, and battery efficiency.
The Mix Fold 4 featured a large 7.98-inch inner AMOLED display and a 6.56-inch cover screen. It also included a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 5,100mAh battery with fast charging support. The new model will likely build on these strengths with enhanced features.
Xiaomi continues to invest in its foldable portfolio. This move reflects growing competition in the global market. Consumers eagerly await the official announcement for complete specifications and pricing details.
