WhatsApp Plus Subscription: Key Features and Pricing

WhatsApp Plus subscription offers premium customization for iOS users while keeping core features free.

WhatsApp Introduces Paid Plus Subscription for iOS Users

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new paid subscription called WhatsApp Plus. The company is currently offering this tier to a limited number of iPhone users. The subscription adds premium customization features while keeping all core messaging and calling functions completely free.

What WhatsApp Plus Offers

Subscribers gain access to exclusive sticker packs with animated effects. They can also personalize the app with 18 different accent colors and 14 alternative app icons. Moreover, users can pin up to 20 chats instead of the usual three. They may apply the same theme, notification tone, and ringtone across custom chat lists. Additionally, the plan includes 10 exclusive ringtones such as Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, and Carnival.

Availability and Pricing

WhatsApp Plus currently appears for users running the latest stable version of WhatsApp on iOS. The feature is rolling out gradually, so only selected users can see it for now. The company plans to expand access in the coming weeks. Users can check availability directly in the app Settings menu.

The subscription follows a monthly billing model. In European markets, it costs EUR 2.49, which is roughly Rs 274. Prices will vary by region as the service expands. Some users may receive a one-week or one-month free trial. Furthermore, subscribers can manage or cancel the plan easily through the App Store.

Important Details

WhatsApp Plus works only with the standard Messenger app. It remains unavailable for WhatsApp Business accounts. The subscription renews automatically unless users cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Non-subscribers will continue to enjoy full access to all basic messaging, voice, and video calling features at no cost.

Future Plans

WhatsApp intends to add more premium features in upcoming updates. This new subscription allows users who want extra personalization to enhance their experience. At the same time, it keeps the app free and accessible for everyone else.

This move marks WhatsApp’s first paid customization tier. It gives users more ways to make the app feel personal while maintaining its simple and free core experience.
