Samsung Galaxy S26 series might soon fight scam calls better. Reports show Google could bring its smart AI scam detection to these phones. This feature stays exclusive to Pixel devices right now.
Android Authority teamed up with developer AssembleDebug. They checked the Android CallCore app code. This app handles calls on Android phones. The latest update adds scam detection support. It includes a flag called com.google.android.apps.callcore.SUPPORTED. This flag also appears in Galaxy S26 Ultra log files.
Earlier, experts found Galaxy S26 model numbers in the Phone by Google app. They spotted “Sharpie” too. That name points to Google’s scam detection tool.
Google first launched this feature in March 2025. It uses on-device AI to check talk patterns. Then it spots scam signs fast. The phone gives audio alerts, vibrations, and pop-up warnings. Importantly, everything happens on the device. No audio or text goes to servers. Privacy stays safe.
Currently, only Pixel phones and some Pixel Watches get this protection. However, new code hints change that. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra could become the first non-Pixel phones with it. Samsung has not confirmed anything yet.
