Samsung’s 2026 Flagship Lineup to Include Galaxy S26+
Samsung is reviving the Galaxy S26+ in its 2026 flagship smartphone lineup. This decision is contrary to earlier rumors. These rumors suggested the model would be discontinued. The decision comes after poor sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was meant to replace the Plus variant.
Key Features and Specifications:
- Galaxy S26 Series Models: The lineup is expected to include four models. These are Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
- Processors: The Galaxy S26 series might feature Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor in European markets. This marks a shift from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC used in current models.
- Display: The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Camera: The Galaxy S26 Ultra might feature a quad-camera setup. It includes a 200MP Sony main sensor. There is a 50MP periscope telephoto. It also has a 50MP ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto lens.
- Battery Life: The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to have a 4,200mAh battery. The Pro and Ultra models might have larger battery capacities.
Reasons Behind the Revival:
The Galaxy S25 Edge experienced poor sales. Production volume was estimated at 300,000 units for the September to December 2025 period. This is compared to 3.4 million and 2.9 million units for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and standard Galaxy S25, respectively. The Galaxy S25 Plus had a shipment target of 6.7 million units, the lowest in the series.
Launch Timeline:
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in late January or early February 2026, with four models potentially debuting together
