Google has unveiled the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep. The new sleep-tracking wearable works with the Pokémon Sleep app. It comes in a Sleepy Blue colour. The strap features a Sleeping Pikachu design.
The tracker records sleep stages and duration through the Google Health app. Compatible data can also unlock rewards in Pokémon Sleep. The special edition is now available for preorder in select markets. Shipping is scheduled to begin next month.
The device is reportedly priced at 129 dollars in the United States, or about Rs. 12,300. Buyers can preorder it through the Google Store and Target. Google says shipments will begin on September 15. Each purchase includes a three-month trial of Google Health Premium.
The tracker is designed for continuous wear, including overnight use. It has a micro-adjustable design. The Sleepy Blue strap carries a custom Sleeping Pikachu print. The Google Health app records sleep stages and duration, including light and deep sleep. Google Health Coach can then study sleep trends over time. It can also offer personalised recommendations based on the data.
Users can connect Fitbit Air to Pokémon Sleep through Health Connect on Android. They can also use Apple Health on iOS. The game uses sleep duration data from Google Health to decide which Pokémon appear around Snorlax. Players can research sleeping styles and add them to the Sleep Style Dex. They can also befriend helper Pokémon.
Those Pokémon can collect Berries to raise Snorlax’s Strength. Pokémon Sleep combines this with the user’s Sleep Score to calculate Drowsy Power. Higher Drowsy Power can bring more Pokémon into the game. It can also increase the chance of finding rarer sleep styles.
To use the feature, users must allow Google Health to share data with Health Connect or Apple Health. They then pair the device through the Pokémon Sleep Settings menu. After that, sleep data recorded by the tracker syncs with the game each morning. The integration works with all Google Pixel and Fitbit wearables.
Google is also launching the special edition as part of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
