Redmi has launched the 17 5G in China. The company introduced the smartphone on Thursday after unveiling the Redmi Note 17 series.
The phone is now available for purchase on the Xiaomi website in China. It comes in three colour options and two memory configurations.
Pricing starts at CNY 999 for the base 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs CNY 1,199.
Buyers can choose from Cold Mist Blue, Feather Mist White, and Star Rock Black finishes.
The Redmi 17 5G runs on an octa-core Unisoc T8300 processor built on a 6nm process. The chipset pairs with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Moreover, the phone ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
A 6.9-inch HD LCD touchscreen forms the display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Peak brightness reaches 800 nits. In addition, the screen includes DC dimming and Wet Touch 2.0 for better response with damp fingers.
The camera setup remains simple. A single 13-megapixel sensor handles rear photography. An 8-megapixel front camera supports selfies and video calls.
A 6,300mAh battery powers the device. It supports 15W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C port. The phone also supports GPS, Galileo, and QZSS. Sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and e-compass.
The Redmi 17 5G measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 8.15 mm and weighs about 210 grams. It functions as a dual-SIM smartphone.
