Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to Get Major RAM Upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, the company’s next flagship smartphone, might feature a significant RAM upgrade. According to reports, the device could come equipped with 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM.
This RAM was first announced by Samsung’s semiconductor division in April 2024. It’s said to boost performance by 25% and improve power efficiency by the same percentage. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge models.
The new RAM uses a 12nm process technology, making it the smallest chip size among existing LPDDRs. It promises over 30% higher capacity than the previous generation.
However, there’s conflicting information on whether the Galaxy S25 Ultra will also feature this RAM. Samsung starts mass-producing the 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM in the second half of 2024. Because of this timing, it might be unlikely for the Galaxy S25 Ultra to include it. The Galaxy S26 Ultra seems more likely to get this upgrade.
